General Information
Trinity Episcopal School seeks intellectually curious students who will thrive in an academically challenging environment, who will contribute to the overall vitality of the school, and whose families support the mission and values of Trinity. The purpose of the admission process is to build a profile of each candidate and enroll students who have the greatest potential for success in the school.
The Admission Committee looks carefully at standardized test results, school records and transcripts or developmental readiness, teacher recommendations, student observations, and family interview. A limited number of students for admission to each grade are selected based on space available in that grade level and the School's admission policies and priorities.
Most available spaces are in kindergarten, first, fifth, and sixth grades. Spaces for all other grades occur through attrition. Kindergarten candidates must have turned five by September 1 of their entering school year.
Parent Visits
Parents are welcome to call the Admission Office to arrange for a parent visit. These tours can be scheduled daily. We encourage parents to join us for morning chapel before touring as this allows them a glimpse of Trinity's entire community. In addition to individual parent visits, Trinity hosts Open Houses throughout the year. Please contact the Admission Office to reserve a place at these events.
Application
Trinity accepts applications continually. To apply at any grade level, parents should submit the completed application form and a non-refundable fee of $100. For families applying for financial assistance, please contact the Admission Office. Completed application forms are due in early March.
Candidates for Grades 5-8 must submit the Parent Statement and Applicant Statement with their application. These forms are available at our website in the Admission Downloads area or from the Admission Office.
Student Visits
Student visits occur in January and February, and will be arranged by the Admission Office after a completed application has been submitted. Applicants to kindergarten and first grade are invited to attend a play date session in January that offers the chance to interact in a classroom setting. Student applicants in grades 2-8 are invited to spend a portion of the day visiting Trinity in their current grade.
Family Interview
Trinity requires a family interview with the applicant and their parents.
Recommendations and Transcripts
Teachers' recommendation forms are required for all students who currently attend a school or preschool. Recommendations must be sent directly from the teacher to Trinity. Transcripts and standardized test scores are also required for all applicants.
There is an additional deadline in early March for school visits and completed files including teacher recommendation forms, transcripts and testing. For specific dates, please contact the Admission Office.
Testing
Applicants to kindergarten and first grades are administered a developmentally appropriate readiness test and applicants to grades 2-4 are administered an admissions test. Testing is conducted by independent testers at Trinity Episcopal School and the fee for testing is $75.00.
Applicants to grades 5-8 are required to take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). The school code for Trinity is 447572. Applicants may register online for the test at www.iseetest.org or obtain registration forms from Trinity.
