Grandparents & Special Friends Day
 Grandparents & Special Friends Day is right around the corner! Invitations have been sent to grandparents and plans are being made for a wonderful event. This year, the day will include an early release for students, so they may spend the afternoon with their families. Please see News & Notes for a detailed breakdown of the day's schedule.

Kindergarten Celebrates Chinese New Year
 Trinity Episcopal School’s kindergarten classes welcomed in the Chinese New Year in traditional fashion by holding a parade, wearing dragon costumes, and greeting each other with Gong Xi Fa Cai (a wish for wealth in the new year). Students also promised their teachers that they would help their parents and keep their rooms clean, two traditional activities for bringing in the Chinese New Year.

Girlstart Newsletter Features Trinity Students
 Trinity is featured in the Fall 2011 Girlstart newsletter. Mrs. Horan and Mrs. Gaskin sponsor this program for our 4th and 5th grade girls, and work with a local Girlstart facilitator on our campus. The program promotes STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education for girls.

January Is MLK Month
MLK Month events continue this week with our guest speaker at Chapel for grade 8 @ 10:45am. Veronica Segura, Director of Finance at Seton Foundations and former president of Segura Construction, will speak to the students about leadership. Fourth Grade Service Learning

The fourth grade recently traveled to the Capitol Area Food Bank for a hands-on service learning effort. They helped stock pantry shelves and packed-up over 12,000 pounds of food. Kudos to these Stewards of Compassion and all of the parents and teachers who helped to make this happen.
